Independence Day — Games, Prizes and a Doorprize

Indonesia's 80th Independence Day at the factory: cups tied to faces, a nail into a bottle, a biscuit race — then prizes and a doorprize.

Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, and the production floor became an arena again.

The games went first, and the funniest was the simplest: a plastic cup tied to your face with string, and whatever is in it has to reach the next cup without hands. Some were carrying a ball, some were carrying water and arriving with half of it. Next to that, a nail hanging on a string from your waist, to be lowered into the mouth of a bottle. The loudest of the lot was the biscuit-into-mouth race — the first and second place winners got their own hand-lettered signs to hold up for the group photo.

Prizes and the doorprize came later: fans, an air cooler, a two-burner gas stove, drawn on a wheel spun on a laptop screen. The folding kick scooter went to Ade Setiawan.
